Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2024
This Privacy Policy describes how NoteSnap ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service.
End-to-End Encryption & Privacy
Your Data is Fully Protected
End-to-End Encryption
All notes are encrypted before being stored on our servers. We cannot read or access your note content as the encryption happens in your browser.
Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Our server only sees encrypted data. We have no way to decrypt or read your notes, ensuring complete privacy of your content.
Secure Key Management
Encryption keys are generated and stored only on your device, never transmitted to our servers.
Information Collection
- IP Address: We collect and track IP addresses for security purposes and to prevent misuse of our service. This helps us monitor and prevent criminal activities.
- User Identification: We create a unique identifier based on your IP address. No account creation or personal information is required.
- Note Content: Notes are encrypted in your browser before being temporarily stored on our servers until their expiration time, after which they are permanently deleted.
- Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption protocols to ensure your data remains private and secure.
Google Drive Integration
Important: When you use our Google Drive integration:
- We only request access to a specific application folder created for NoteSnap
- Your files are stored in your personal Google Drive account
- We cannot access any other files or folders in your Google Drive
- You maintain full control and can revoke access at any time
- Files are protected by Google Drive's built-in security measures
Data Storage and Security
- Notes are stored locally on your device in your browser's local storage
- Server-side note storage is temporary, encrypted, and limited to the expiration period you select
- After expiration, encrypted notes are permanently deleted from our servers
- We use military-grade encryption standards to protect your data
- Even in the unlikely event of a server breach, your notes remain secure due to encryption
Data Usage
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our service
- Prevent abuse and illegal activities
- Monitor service performance and improve user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
Third-Party Services
We only use Google Drive as a third-party service for file storage when you explicitly choose to use this feature. We do not share your data with any other third-party services. All data stored in Google Drive remains encrypted.
